The Resurrection: A Hope That Does Not Fade

Easter is past, but the hope of the resurrection does not fade. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. It offers a hope that transcends the difficulties and darkness of this world. As the Apostle Paul said, “... that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” (Philippians 3:10). This is an incredibly profound statement states the deep connection between knowing Christ personally by the Gospel, sharing in His sufferings, and living by the very power that raised Him from the dead.

The hope found in the real power of Christ's resurrection is not a hope based in fanciful or wishful thinking, but in history. Since Christ has been raised, we have an eternal promise of our own eternal life, and therefore hope and power for living righteously today. Whatever trials, temptations, or disappointments assail us now, we can face them with His courage and perseverance, for He has conquered sin and death.

We may move on from Easter, but we never move on from the resurrection. We have a hope that will never fade:  “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3-4).
