Purpose Statement

Our youth ministry’s focus is to help middle school and high school students develop as dedicated followers of Jesus Christ and provide them with opportunities to engage with each other and their community in a God-honoring way. 

At VBC, we take the responsibility to disciple our youth seriously. Our Connect (6th-8th grade) and The Pursuit (9th-12th grade) ministries help lay a foundation for the Christian faith through biblical instruction, Christian fellowship, and opportunities to serve.

The Church cannot afford to fail in raising up the next generation to follow Christ. It is our joy to partner with parents in shepherding our youth as they emerge into adulthood.

Pastor Chris Martin is the elder who oversees the VBC Youth ministry.

Sunday School
Sunday School classes for middle school and high school meet at 9 am. Middle School (6th-8th grade) studies New Testament Survey in Room 151, and High School (9th-12th grade) studies Systematic Theology in Room 150.

Courageous Conquerors
VBC's Sunday School class for individuals with special needs who could benefit from a class adapted for varied learning styles welcomes students from middle school through adulthood. This class meets in Room 152 at 9 am. Please contact Stephanie in the church office at (509) 928-5161 to register or if you would like to serve in this ministry.

Wednesday Nights
Every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the church, we bring students together to fellowship around truth and relationships. Middle school and high school students study God’s Word, sing, enjoy activities, and share life in small groups.

VBC Youth Dress Code

The purpose of the VBC Youth Dress Code is to provide a consistent and clear expectation for what to wear at VBC Youth gatherings (Wednesday evenings), camps, and events. Meet Pastor Chris

Chris and his wife, Izumi, have been ministering at Valley Bible Church since 2010. What was a family of three has doubled to a family of six who love to call Spokane Valley home. As a pastor, Chris loves being a part of the team of elders and staff personnel, and serving the church body through the Sunday preaching of the Word, pastoral counseling, and helping to support a variety of other ministries.

Meet Jerod
Jerod and his wife, Amanda, began attending VBC in 2014. After serving as a volunteer in many capacities for several years, Jerod joined the staff full time as Ministry Director of Youth and Counseling in 2024. Jerod and Amanda live in Spokane Valley with their two children.
