Good to Know: Winter Edition

Editor’s note: This quarterly "Good to Know" column is meant to provide timely and clear communication to the VBC church body. If you have a suggestion for items you would like to see in this column in the future, please email amanda@spokanevbc.org.

VBC's Elder Team

Ben Orchard, Chris Martin, Doug Snook, Ken Wendt, Gerry Caesar, Caleb Klontz, Toby Erickson, and Ken Ainsworth are the members of VBC's elder team. Toby and Ken were officially brought on to the team in September, and Caleb was reinstated as an elder after his return from Italy at that time.

All ministries of Valley Bible Church are overseen by an elder. For more information about a particular ministry and which elder is responsible for it, please contact the church office at (509) 928-5161.

Pastor Ben Orchard moving to part-time

Pastor Ben's last sermon as a full-time pastor at VBC is planned for Sunday, Dec. 14. From Pastor Ben: "I will retire from full-time ministry in January but will remain a part-time staff member at VBC. My primary role will be to oversee and teach in our adult Sunday School. I will have other scaled-back responsibilities and will always remain Pastor Ben. Tara and I will take a six-week sabbatical beginning January 1st to kick off this new season in our lives."

Women's Ministry

As our congregation is growing and we are reassessing the needs of the VBC community with this building expansion, a team of ladies is meeting with elders to refocus the biblical vision for VBC's women’s ministry. This is still in process, but there is great enthusiasm for the future! Please pray for wisdom and guidance as they seek to serve the women of VBC in 2026!

Construction: Phase 1 is complete!

This past Sunday, Nov. 30, we had our first Sunday services in the brand-new auditorium! Because our auditorium is larger, we moved back to two services at 9 and 10:45 am.

Thank you to everyone for being so patient and flexible during the displacement process. We couldn't have done it without you!

Pastor Ben and Pastor Chris dedicated the new auditorium during last week's service. Watch the replay on Instagram here and on Facebook here.

Please be in prayer for the next phase of construction, the completion of the children's wing. More information coming soon! If you would like to give to the building project fund, please contact the church office at (509) 928-5161.

Membership Process

For those who are interested in becoming members of Valley Bible Church, a 4-week Membership Class is planned to begin Jan. 4, 2026, at 10:45 am in Room 130. Middle School and High School Sunday School will meet during the 9 am service in Room 150 and 151.
